Libya Unveils National Framework to Boost Graduate Employment Opportunities

Tripoli: The Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Technical and Vocational Education, and Labor and Rehabilitation in the Government of National Unity, in collaboration with the European Union and Expertise France, announced the launch of the National Framework for Enhancing the Employability of Education Outcomes in Libya. This initiative aims to align educational outcomes with labor market needs and transform them into sustainable employment opportunities.

According to Libyan News Agency, the launch ceremony took place at the Libyan Academy for Graduate Studies in Tripoli, where Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mohamed Al-Dbeib, highlighted the framework's purpose. It aims to improve graduates' readiness for the labor market by aligning academic outputs with professional requirements. The framework is designed to equip graduates with necessary competencies and skills, enhancing their professional success and supporting the national economy.

The National Framework is structured around higher education and technical and vocational education pathways. It aims to develop competitive competencies that meet modern labor market needs, expand and diversify employment opportunities, and strengthen the private sector's ability to absorb graduates.

Additionally, the framework supports entrepreneurship, self-employment, and innovation within educational institutions, contributing to improved educational outcomes and fostering sustainable economic and social impact.

The launch event was attended by key figures, including the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the President of the Libyan Academy for Graduate Studies, undersecretaries from the Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education, and representatives from various ministries and international bodies. Notable attendees included the Director of Cooperation at the European Union Delegation, the Cultural Attach© at the French Embassy, representatives from Expertise France, and presidents of Libyan universities.
