Tripoli: The Minister of Oil and Gas in the Government of National Unity, Khalifa Abdul-Sadig, discussed ways to expand Libya's benefits from its founding membership in the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC). This initiative aims to enhance efforts to develop the oil and gas sector and contribute to keeping pace with regional and international transformations in the energy sector. The discussion took place during his meeting with OAPEC Secretary-General Jamal Al-Loughani, on the sidelines of his participation in the 9th Global Gas Exporting Countries Symposium.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Ministry of Oil and Gas reported on its official Facebook page that the two sides discussed the latest projects and initiatives launched by the organization during the meeting. Minister Abdul-Sadig expressed his appreciation for the development in OAPEC's performance and its efforts to strengthen joint Arab action in the energy sector.
The ministry explained that this meeting comes as part of its commitment to expanding cooperation with specialized regional organizations. It aims to enhance Libya's presence and role in the global energy market, in a way that serves national interests and supports opportunities to leverage available resources and capabilities.
