Libya Calls for Adherence to ICJ Opinion on Ending Zionist Aggression Against Gaza.

Riyadh: Libya emphasized the importance of considering the International Court of Justice's (ICJ) advisory opinion, issued on July 19, 2024, which mandates the Zionist entity to cease its aggression and terminate its occupation of Palestinian territories. The statement was made by Libya's delegation during the preparatory meeting of foreign ministers for the Arab-Islamic summit, held in Riyadh to address the ongoing Israeli aggression against Palestine and Lebanon.According to Libyan News Agency, the Libyan delegation highlighted that the ICJ's opinion, characterizing Israeli actions against Palestinians as occupation and persecution, undermines Israel's claims of self-defense and confirms the aggressive nature of its actions. The Libyan delegation is led by Abdul Mutalib Thabet, Libya's Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, with Mohammed Al-Hafi, the Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and Fateh Bishina, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Libya to Saudi Ar abia, as members.
