The number of job openings was little changed at 7.7 million on the last business day of July, the U.S.Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today.The figure was the lowest since January 2021, a hint that the labor market in the world's largest economy may be softening.The number of job openings was down by 1.1 million over the year on the last day of July.
