London: Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni affirmed that her government is working with the United Kingdom to address the root causes of illegal immigration and ensure the right not to be forced to migrate, adding that migration is a global phenomenon that particularly worries Europe.

According to Libyan News Agency, Meloni, in a video address to the Border Security Summit in London, emphasized the need for a cooperative model with countries of origin and transit of migration flows. She stated, "This means building a model of cooperation with countries of origin and transit of migration flows, so that they can achieve prosperity with the resources they possess."

Meloni highlighted the consensus with the British Prime Minister on the importance of border security management, which involves combatting irregular mass migration. She noted that this is a global issue that significantly concerns Europe, both within and outside the borders of the European Union. She mentioned that their governments have long collaborated to dismantle criminal organizations exploiting vulnerable individuals seeking better living conditions.

Furthermore, Meloni stressed the significance of strengthening cooperation between the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) and the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust) with third countries. The ongoing efforts aim to unify strategies and enhance international collaboration.

London is currently hosting a meeting to discuss ways to combat illegal immigration, with representatives from 40 countries in attendance.
