Al-qubbah: The Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Hannah Tetteh, met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, to discuss the mission's efforts in developing a consensual roadmap aimed at reaching elections. This roadmap is intended to be part of Tetteh's upcoming briefing to the UN Security Council on August 21.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting was held in the city of Al-Qubbah and was also attended by Stephanie Khoury, Tetteh's Deputy for Political Affairs. The UN Mission shared details of the meeting on its official account on the "X" platform. Discussions during the meeting focused on the latest developments in Libya's political and security situation.
Tetteh emphasized the importance of all Libyan parties taking responsibility and seriously engaging in the political process. She urged for a spirit of consensus and compromise, aiming to fulfill the Libyan people's aspirations for peace, stability, and prosperity through comprehensive presidential and parliamentary elections.
