Egyptian Foreign Minister Calls for Withdrawal of Foreign Forces from Libya

Nicosia: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Atti emphasized the importance of respecting Libyan sovereignty and maintaining its territorial integrity during a meeting with Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos. Abdel-Atti highlighted the necessity of keeping Libya free from foreign interference.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting took place in Nicosia, where the two ministers discussed several regional issues of mutual interest. The Egyptian Foreign Minister stressed the need for concerted efforts to ensure the withdrawal of all foreign forces, mercenaries, and foreign fighters from Libya.

Abdel-Atti also advocated for support of a Libyan-led political process, emphasizing the importance of achieving national consensus without external dictates. He underscored that this process should lead to simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections in Libya.
