An earthquake measuring 5.4 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Monday the South Sandwich Islands, a British overseas territory in the South Atlantic Ocean.The US Geological Survey (USGS) said that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 111.1 km.There were no reports of material damage or human losses due to the earthquake.The South Sandwich Islands are an archipelago that forms part of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, which are an overseas territory of the UK.Source: Qatar News Agency
