Tripoli: The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbaiba, convened a meeting at the Prime Minister's Office with the President and members of the University of Bani Walid Council. The discussion was attended by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Omran Al-Qeeb, and Mustafa Al-Manea, the head of the Executive Team for Prime Ministerial Initiatives and Strategic Projects.
According to Libyan News Agency, the delegation from the University included the President and several academic leaders, such as the Undersecretary for Academic Affairs and deans from various faculties including Agriculture, Engineering, Science, Education, and others. Technical and administrative department directors also participated, focusing on faculty affairs and university infrastructure.
The Government Media Office reported that Prime Minister Dbaiba acknowledged the advancements made at the University of Bani Walid since 2021. He highlighted the construction of 18 new academic halls and an amphitheater, which have enhanced the educational environment. Dbaiba emphasized the city's rich scientific and academic talent as key to the university's progress and its role in local development.
Members of the University Council, the office noted, expressed their gratitude for the Prime Minister's backing and urged the completion of ongoing projects to sustain the university's performance improvements. Dbaiba reiterated his commitment to supporting educational institutions across various cities under the "Return to Life" plan, underscoring education's importance to Libya's stability and development.
