Tripoli: Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbaiba, has appointed the Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation, Ali al-Abed, as the new Minister of Education, while also assigning him to manage the Ministry of Oil and Gas temporarily.According to Libyan News Agency, the government has not provided further details regarding the reasons behind this appointment or its expected duration. This decision follows a court ruling that sentenced Education Minister Musa al-Magariaf to prison on corruption charges related to his ministry.On Wednesday, Dbaiba appointed al-Abed to manage the Ministry of Oil temporarily, as the current Minister, Khalifa Abdul Sadiq, is on leave to perform the Hajj pilgrimage. Al-Abed has been serving as the Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation since the formation of the Government of National Unity. He has previously led the Ministry of Oil and Gas and has overseen several portfolios related to workforce management and vocational training programs, in addition t o his role in the Ministry of Civil Service.
