Conclusion of the National Reconciliation Forum in Benghazi.


Benghazi: The activities of the National Reconciliation Forum, organized by the Justice and National Reconciliation Committee of the House of Representatives, concluded this evening in the city of Benghazi, under the slogan “Reconciliation is a historical social responsibility”.

According to Libyan News Agency, at the conclusion of its work, the forum issued a statement that included several main points. Most notably, the announcement of the “National Charter for Social Peace”, which was unanimously approved by the attendees to be a national reference document. An agreement was also reached to form a follow-up committee by a decision of the House of Representatives, which will undertake the task of following up on the implementation of the charter and applying it on the ground.

The statement from the forum called on the House of Representatives to expedite the completion of the national reconciliation file and to begin taking practical steps to implement what was agreed upon.
