Tripoli: The Central Bank of Libya announced the commencement of cash distribution to commercial bank branches across the country, as part of its efforts to meet citizens' needs and enhance financial stability.According to Libyan News Agency, the bank explained that this step coincides with the imminent disbursement of public sector salaries via traditional payment methods, which will lead to increased demand for cash. The statement indicated that commercial banks will begin distributing cash to citizens according to the approved mechanisms starting next Wednesday, as soon as the procedures related to traditional payment methods are finalized.The Central Bank also confirmed the continued availability of cash through branch counters, in addition to ATMs located throughout the country. It clarified that these arrangements will continue until Eid al-Adha, ensuring the continuous replenishment of ATMs to meet citizens' needs during the holiday.In closing, the bank reiterated its call for citizens to expand their use of electronic payment methods, given their important role in promoting financial inclusion and reducing pressure on cash liquidity in the local market.
