Central Bank of Libya Confirms End of Fifty-Dinar Note Circulation


Tripoli: The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) has confirmed that the final deadline for the circulation of the first and second issues of the fifty-dinar banknote was Wednesday, April 30, 2025. This confirmation adheres to previous announcements and official decisions made by the CBL.



According to Libyan News Agency, the CBL issued a statement addressing rumors about the extension of the acceptance period for this banknote, labeling them as unfounded. The CBL clarified that the fifty-dinar note is no longer valid for transactions at commercial banks. The bank urged all media outlets and social media platforms to ensure the accuracy of the information they disseminate and to avoid spreading false or unreliable news.



Furthermore, the CBL reiterated that its website and verified social media pages are the exclusive sources of accurate and official information regarding financial matters and bank policies.
