Manama: Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Governor of the Capital Governorate, received the Global Innovation Award for Sustainable Development Leaders at the "Future Cities in the BRICS Group" forum held in Moscow, attended by senior officials, city mayors, governors, and industry leaders.The governor expressed pride in this recognition, which reflects the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development across all sectors, enhancing the quality of services for citizens and residents. He also noted the significant role of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in supporting the governorates and improving their coordination in implementing vital government projects and leading initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable development goals.The governor commended the directives of His Excellency Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, which have enhanced the perfo rmance and leadership role of the Capital Governorate through various community programs and development initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for citizens and residents, as well as health and environmental standards. He added that this achievement motivates further pioneering projects that benefit the Kingdom and its people.He said that participating in distinguished international forums and events showcasing successful experiences from major cities contributes to leveraging advanced expertise in building sustainable communities based on best practices in urban development.
