New york: The British representative to the UN Security Council warned that the current situation in Libya is unsustainable, and the Libyan people have waited far too long for stability.
According to Libyan News Agency, in his address to the Security Council meeting on Libya on Wednesday, the British representative urged all Libyan parties to engage seriously and effectively in the UN-led political process. He affirmed the UK's strong support for UN-Libya and welcomed the launch of the structured dialogue and its four tracks of meetings on governance, the economy, security, national reconciliation, and human rights.
The British representative expressed regret over the lack of participation by key Libyan stakeholders in the UN process, warning that this exacerbates the risk of instability in the country.
