Cairo: The meetings of the four permanent committees of the Arab Parliament have successfully concluded in Cairo. This marks a significant step in the preparations for the fifth closing session of the first session of the fourth legislative term, which is set to take place on Saturday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
According to Libyan News Agency, a delegation from the House of Representatives, including members Abdul Salam Nasiya, Ahlam Al-Lafi, Hassan Al-Barghouti, and Abu Salah Shalabi, participated in the discussions as part of the Arab Parliament. The Foreign Affairs, Political Affairs, and National Security Committee engaged in discussions about the latest political and security developments in the Arab world. They also reviewed a memorandum on formulating a parliamentary vision aimed at activating preventive diplomacy's role in conflict prevention and crisis resolution. The committee presented a report on its activities throughout the current session.
Meanwhile, the Social, Educational, Cultural, Women, and Youth Affairs Committee, under the leadership of Dr. Ahlam Al-Lafi, focused on social entrepreneurship in the Arab world and the advancement of e-learning. They also evaluated the progress in organizing a workshop dedicated to care and protection in conflict zones and prepared for a symposium on safeguarding antiquities in Arab nations.
The Economic Affairs Committee explored avenues to fortify relationships with economic organizations and institutions. They discussed drafting an Arab strategy to bolster support for Arab countries in the "blue economy" sector.
Additionally, the Legislative, Legal, and Human Rights Affairs Committee reviewed the final draft of a law aimed at combating illegal immigration in the Arab world. They also examined the initial draft of an Arab parliamentary vision for consumer protection in the era of globalization.
