Tripoli: The Chairman of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Emad Al-Sayeh, engaged in discussions with Martin Reynolds, the UK Ambassador to Libya, and his delegation to explore the international community’s role in supporting the HNEC in implementing electoral requirements. The meeting focused on ensuring that the elections are conducted with the highest technical and professional standards, aiming to bolster the democratic process and uphold transparency and credibility in the electoral proceedings.
According to Libyan News Agency, the HNEC highlighted that during the meeting, Al-Sayeh presented the commission’s preparations and outlined its technical and logistical plans for the upcoming elections. He stressed the HNEC’s dedication to maintaining independence and impartiality, ensuring a secure and fair voting environment for all voters.
The UK Ambassador, Martin Reynolds, acknowledged the HNEC’s efforts in organizing the electoral process and reiterated the UK’s continued support for these efforts. He emphasized that successful elections would contribute to enhancing stability and advancing the democratic process in Libya.
