Addis ababa: The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Al-Menfi, met today in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, with the UN Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, Rosemary DiCarlo, on the sidelines of his participation in the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union.According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting addressed a number of political, economic, and security issues. The latest developments in Libya were reviewed, along with ways to enhance coordination with the UN Secretariat to support the political process and contribute to consolidating stability. The role of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) was also discussed.The two sides also discussed joint efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive political settlement that would end the transitional phases, in addition to discussing the national reconciliation file and the practical steps taken to move it forward, in order to strengthen national unity and achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people.
