Moscow: The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Al-Menfi, has reached out to Russian President Vladimir Putin through an official message.
According to Libyan News Agency, the message was delivered by Al-Menfi’s envoy during a meeting in Moscow with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation. The details of the message were not disclosed by the Presidential Council’s media office.
The media office reported that discussions between the two parties focused on the fragile political situation in Libya. They highlighted the need for a comprehensive political process rooted in national consensus to support the current stability. Al-Menfi’s envoy underscored the necessity of fostering an inclusive national dialogue without exclusion, while the Russian side expressed its backing for solutions led by Libyans themselves. Both parties acknowledged the United Nations’ role as a facilitator and agreed to maintain coordination to bolster stability and reinforce the consensual political process in Libya.
