Al-Lafi Discusses Security and Stability Measures with EU Ambassador

Tripoli: Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs Walid Al-Lafi engaged in discussions with the European Union Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, highlighting recent security measures implemented in the capital, Tripoli. These measures mark a significant step in a broader strategy aimed at consolidating stability, eliminating the influence of outlaw groups, and empowering army and police institutions to effectively perform their duties.

According to Libyan News Agency, Al-Lafi, during the meeting on Thursday, emphasized the government’s commitment to a project designed to end armed demonstrations and prosecute those involved in violations. This initiative is part of an integrated security and judicial process rooted in state sovereignty and the protection of citizens’ rights, as reported by the “Our Government” platform.

In anticipation of the upcoming Berlin meeting, Al-Lafi stressed the importance of showcasing the progress made by the government, affirming the unity of state institutions, and rejecting any parallel arrangements. He urged for support towards the United Nations mission’s efforts to complete the transitional phase and advance toward permanent elections grounded in a clear constitutional framework.
