Tripoli: Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industries, Nasr al-Din al-Fazzani, held discussions with Youssef Saad, Secretary-General of the Arab Federation of Leather Industries, focusing on enhancing Libya's involvement in the Federation to boost its contribution to the leather industry sector across the Arab region.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting took place at the Ministry's headquarters in Tripoli, where al-Fazzani and Saad explored strategies for developing Libya's leather industry. The discussions centered on exchanging expertise, building capacities, and improving product quality to align with regional and international standards.
Additionally, the dialogue included the potential organization of a specialized exhibition for leather industries in Libya. This exhibition aims to support artisans and small to medium-sized enterprise owners, promote local products, and broaden cooperation and investment opportunities within this sector.
This initiative is part of the Ministry of Tourism and Traditional Industries' efforts under the Government of National Unity to support traditional industries, enhance their economic contribution, and preserve the national cultural identity.
The Arab Federation of Leather Industries is associated with the Council of Arab Economic Unity of the League of Arab States.
