Cairo: Al-Taher Al-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity, participated today in the proceedings of the Second Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, hosted by the Egyptian capital, Cairo. The conference aimed to formulate a shared vision to pave the way for the Third Russia-Africa Summit scheduled for 2026.According to Libyan News Agency, Al-Baour, in his address to the conference, emphasized that this meeting reflects the depth of the established diplomatic relations between African countries and the Russian Federation, based on mutual respect and shared interests. He noted the growing awareness of the importance of collective action in light of current international challenges, which would ensure a more just and understanding international order, free from polarization and double standards.He further explained that as the African continent enters the second decade of implementing Agenda 2063, it continues to de fine its strategic priorities aimed at strengthening its self-reliance and empowering its people to achieve development and prosperity. Al-Baour stressed the need to accelerate the implementation of infrastructure projects, particularly in the areas of roads, railways, dams, manufacturing, and clean energy, given their pivotal role in addressing global crises such as food security, climate change, and rising prices.Libya's participation in this conference is within the framework of its keenness to enhance its active presence in regional and international forums, confirming its return to the international arena and restoring its status as a key partner in security and economic issues. This participation supports efforts to strengthen national sovereignty through cooperation and coordination with international and regional partners, in light of current regional and international changes.
