Tripoli: The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has introduced a new platform allowing Libyans, both within the country and abroad, to share their insights and recommendations on issues discussed in structured dialogue tracks. This initiative invites participation through an online survey.
According to Libyan News Agency, this effort is part of a campaign named “Give Your Opinion.” The survey’s findings will be presented to members of the structured dialogue tracks and submitted to the Mission leadership, with plans to make the results public.
The survey encompasses pivotal questions related to four dialogue tracks: governance, the economy, security, national reconciliation, and human rights. It is accessible to all Libyans until early April 2026.
UNSMIL will gather data throughout the holy month of Ramadan, with the aim of enriching the discussions among dialogue members. This process is intended to aid in developing solutions that address public concerns and proposing suitable mechanisms for implementing the dialogue’s outcomes.
Hanna Tetteh, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, emphasized that the UN does not dictate the needs of the Libyan people for dialogue participants but instead facilitates communication among Libyans to find solutions. She highlighted that all Libyan citizens play a role in shaping the country’s future, and by engaging in the survey, they can contribute their ideas. The UN mission is committed to ensuring these ideas are included in the structured dialogue tracks it facilitates.
