Tripoli: The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has expressed support for mediation efforts by Libyan stakeholders to address the ongoing dispute over the constitutional judiciary. This includes backing the formation of a mediation committee consisting of prominent Libyan legal experts.According to Libyan News Agency, the committee's objective is to propose solutions that will maintain the continuity of constitutional oversight and uphold the judiciary's crucial role as a foundational pillar of the Libyan state. UNSMIL emphasized the necessity of resolving this dispute to protect the unity and independence of Libya's judicial system.The committee comprises retired Judge Hussein Al-Buaishi, Professor Al-Koni Abboudah, retired Judge Al-Mabrouk Al-Fakhri, and lawyer Essam El-Mawi. These individuals bring with them decades of esteemed service within Libya's legal and judicial frameworks.
