Cairo: Tunisias assumption of the Chairmanship of the Council of the League of Arab States at the Ministerial Level was marked by a session chaired by Mr. Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad. The 166th Session focused on major regional issues and challenges, emphasizing Tunisia's commitment to enhancing Arab solidarity and advancing joint Arab action.According to African Press Organization, Minister Nafti highlighted the importance of security and stability in the region, advocating for Palestinian rights and the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. He expressed Tunisia's solidarity with Syria and Lebanon, condemning attacks on their territories, and reiterated support for a Libyan-led resolution to the conflict in Libya. Tunisia also showed solidarity with Sudan and Yemen in their pursuit of unity and stability.The Minister extended Tunisia's support to various Arab nations, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Ku wait, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, and Iraq, against threats to their sovereignty. He called for enhanced Arab coordination to address security challenges and highlighted the necessity of implementing Arab decisions into actionable programs.In development, social, and economic arenas, Tunisia's efforts were underscored, including hosting the Arab High-Level Preparatory Meeting for the Second World Summit for Social Development and receiving the Arab Government Excellence Award for education. Tunisia's leadership in health specializations and its designation as the Arab Tourism Capital for 2027 were also acknowledged as significant achievements.Minister Nafti concluded by reaffirming Tunisia's dedication to collaborating with the League's Secretary-General and member states to enhance joint Arab action and address regional challenges.
