Trump Approves African Union Ambassador to USA


Washington: US President Donald Trump approved Constancia Adelina Gasparras as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the African Union to the United States of America during an official ceremony held at the White House in Washington, D.C.

According to Libyan News Agency, the presentation of credentials marks the official commencement of Ambassador Gasparras’s duties in Washington. The US President welcomed her appointment, considering it a reflection of the deep-rooted partnership between the African Union and the United States of America.

President Trump affirmed that relations between the two sides are based on promoting shared economic opportunities, respecting national sovereignty and leadership, and close cooperation in the areas of peace and security, serving mutual interests and contributing to regional and international stability.
