The Presidential Council confirms the end of security tensions in Yafran.


The deputy of the Presidential Council met on Wednesday with the mayor of Yafran and the city’s dignitaries and elders with its various components, in the presence of the Deputy Chief of General Staff “Salah al-Din al-Namroush” and a number of military and security officials in the city.

The media office of the council stated that the meeting, which was attended by a number of mayors of the western mountain municipalities, discussed the general situation in the city of Yafran, especially the security situation in light of the tensions that the city has witnessed in recent days.

The office explained that the security organization in the city of Yafran was discussed, and the emphasis was on ending armed manifestations, releasing detainees, and agreeing to coordinate between the security and military authorities to end the state of tension in the city in a way that enhances the preservation of the social fabric.

It is noteworthy that one of the security agencies stationed in the city detained the member of t
he municipal council “Miloud Boudia” and 5 citizens against the backdrop of organizing a demonstration rejecting the stationing of armed formations inside the city, according to statements by the mayor of the Yafran Municipal Council “Hussein Kafu”.
