Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, has praised the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to achieve citizens’ aspirations and support the national development process.
He commended the order of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to allocate an additional budget for financing solutions and alternative options for those who have applied for housing units in 2004 and prior, within the framework of the ongoing executive-legislature cooperation and coordination to provide integrated housing solutions and services to Bahraini citizens..
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s directives reflect HRH’s keenness on following up on the needs of citizens, and enhancing the delivery of services benefiting them, including housing, he said.
He affirmed that the HRH’s order reflects the cooperation between the legislative and executive branches for the interest of the country and the citizens, who represent a top priority in joint national action.
Allocating additional funds to finance solutions and alternative options for old applicants for the year 2004 and earlier contributes to supporting Bahraini families’ stability and ensuring them decent living conditions, Speaker Al-Musallam said.
"The positive results which have been achieved in the housing file reflect the council’s role in assuming its legislative oversight, cooperation with the government and the Shura Council, and continuous parliamentary follow-up," he added.
The organised meetings with the citizens, field visits, and periodic meetings with Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning to exchange views and proposals, aim to accelerate the delivery of housing services and improve them, Al Musallam said.
The Speaker noted the efforts of the Housing and Urban Planning Minister to improve the quality and efficiency of the housing services provided, to meet the needs of everyone, stressing the unlimited parliamentary support for housing plans and programmes aimed at developing services, in a way that contributes to benefitting Bahraini citizens and families, through a qualitative housing package of initiatives and projects.
