Shura Chairman marks International Day of Charity

Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of Shura Council, highlighted Bahrain’s noble humanitarian giving model in supporting charitable and social works, which resulted from the humanitarian approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in patronising various charitable and humanitarian works on local, regional and international levels.

The chairman pointed out that Bahrain was able to consolidate its position internationally in charitable, relief and humanitarian work, thanks to HM the King’s keenness to provide aid to countries that are exposed to crises and disasters, in addition to implementing development programs and projects that benefit the nations.

Al Saleh said in a statement marking the International Day of Charity, which is celebrated on September 5, praising the government’s efforts, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in developing strategies that deepen the areas of charitable work and stimulate humanitarian efforts and giving.

He expressed pride in Bahrain's rich humanitarian record, noting the vital role of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) and its efforts to establish Bahrain on the map of charitable work, through managing medical aid and relief missions and providing educational, social and development work in countries exposed to various disasters and crises.

The chairman praised the interest of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Board of Trustees Chairman of the RHF, in supporting the Foundation’s projects and initiatives, and its charitable and humanitarian efforts at all levels.

He hailed the community solidarity of charitable and social associations, reflecting an honourable image of Bahraini society, which contributed to social development, consolidated commitment and adherence to the concepts and foundations of charitable and humanitarian work.
