Saudi Delegation Engages in Tripoli to Explore Agricultural Investment Opportunities


Tripoli: A Saudi delegation led by Abu Nayef Saleh bin Ayed Al-Qarni, Director General of the Saudi-Mauritanian-Egyptian Group of Agricultural Investments, engaged in discussions with Mohammed Al-Turki, the Undersecretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources, to explore agricultural investment opportunities between Saudi Arabia and Libya.



According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting centered on enhancing joint agricultural investment efforts aimed at bolstering Libya’s food security and advancing the agricultural sector through scientifically backed and strategic initiatives. The discussions included the examination of strategic agricultural projects focusing on Libya’s natural resources and the potential for public-private partnerships in modern agriculture, plant and animal production, and advanced agricultural technologies.



Al-Turki expressed openness to partnerships with Saudi Arabia to develop the agricultural sector, emphasizing Libya’s advantageous environment for agricultural investment and its strategic location for becoming a hub for sustainable agricultural production. The Saudi delegation conveyed significant interest in Libyan investment opportunities and affirmed their readiness to establish partnerships with relevant Libyan authorities, highlighting the intention to develop a roadmap for impactful economic and developmental projects.



Both parties agreed on the necessity of regular meetings to monitor progress and coordination, and plans were made to establish joint technical working groups. These groups will focus on preparing investment studies and proposals, setting the stage for upcoming joint agricultural projects.
