Tripoli: Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba offered his condolences to the family of the late Colonel Muammar Gaddafi and the Gaddafi tribe following the death of Saif al-Islam Muammar Gaddafi. In his statement, Dabaiba stressed that the assassination of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi underscores the inviolability of Libyan blood and the importance of preserving it.
According to Libyan News Agency, Dabaiba, in a post on his official Facebook page, remarked that assassinations and exclusions have historically failed to facilitate state-building or stability. Instead, they have exacerbated divisions and inflicted lasting wounds on the national memory. He reiterated the importance of submission to the judiciary and the state as the true safeguards of rights and the path to preserving life and dignity.
Dabaiba emphasized the independence of the Libyan judiciary, describing it as a national institution committed to justice. He underscored the vision of building a Libya as a state governed by law and institutions, where disputes are settled through dialogue and respect for the people’s will, rather than through violence or the repetition of past tragedies.
The Prime Minister reflected on Libya’s history, noting that reliance on violence has only served to distance Libyans from the goal of a unified state and has prolonged conflict. He called for trust in state institutions and the justice system to reveal the full truth and ensure accountability, devoid of revenge or justification.
Dabaiba urged Libyans to engage sincerely in building a unified state under one flag, viewing this as an opportunity to move from alignment with past methods to adherence to state rules and institutions. He condemned any attempts to infringe upon the Gaddafi family’s right to mourn or to impose security measures that violate human values and Libyan social customs.
