Palestinian Prisoner Martyred in Israeli Prisons

Ramallah: The Palestinian Commission of Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs and the Prisoners' Club in the occupied territories announced Friday the martyrdom of a Palestinian prisoner in Israeli prisons. The Commission and the Club stated that the General Authority for Civil Affairs informed them of the prisoner's death in Israeli custody.

According to Qatar News Agency, there was no clear information available about the circumstances of the prisoner's death, except that he was admitted to an Israeli hospital on June 9. The Commission and the Club confirmed that the number of martyrs among prisoners in Israeli prisons has risen to 72 since the beginning of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023. They also noted that Israel continues to conceal the identities of dozens of martyrs arrested in the Gaza Strip.

The organizations highlighted that the number of martyrs from the prisoner movement whose identities are known since 1967 has risen to 309, considering this period the bloodiest in the movement's history. They emphasized that the Israeli occupation forces continue to arrest Palestinian civilians and activists throughout the occupied territories, including women and children, subjecting them to abuse and torture, often leading to death without informing their families of their fate.
