The Oil and Minerals Minister, Ahmed Daris, visited the site of the "Safer" tanker, which is moored at Ras Issa port in Al Hodeida province.
The minister listened to an explanation from the crew of the oil tanker and its workers about the equipment and arrangements related to the plan to unload the amount of oil from the tanker and save it from dangers. As a result of the systematic damage it suffered, which led to its systems being out of service, due to the prevention of its maintenance, the dismissal of its technical staff, and the prevention of the arrival of diesel fuel for the operation of its engines.
The team stated that the pumps and pipes were equipped to deliver the amount from Safer to the ship designated for oil withdrawal, as well as taking all the information and accurate details of unloading the amount of crude oil, which would contribute to preventing any leakage or water pollution.
He confirmed his full readiness and is now waiting for the replacement ship to unload the tanker's stock of crude oil.
The Minister Daris indicated that the visit aimed to ensure the readiness of the tanker and the possibility of starting the process of transferring crude oil from it to the ship Nautica, praising the efforts of the engineering team and its role in continuing work despite the exceptional conditions the country is witnessing as a result of the aggression and blockade.
Minister Daris emphasized that the suffering of the Yemeni people for more than eight years is due to the continuation of the aggressive war waged by the aggression coalition, which has brought the Safer tanker to a state of danger, by preventing the entry of diesel fuel and materials intended for its maintenance work.
