The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has called on member states and humanitarian organizations to provide urgent humanitarian aid to the Republic of Sudan, which has been devastated by unprecedented heavy floods and torrents early this week that resulted in the loss of hundreds of lives and left thousands of people stranded in their homes.OIC General Secretariat expressed grave concern about the humanitarian crisis resulting from the floods that destroyed whole villages and cities, particularly in the north and east of Sudan. It also expressed its sympathy for the families of the victims and support for those affected, and prayed for a quick recovery for the injured.Source: Saudi Press Agency
