Muhammad Ali Al-Houthi meets with Regional Director of WFP

A member of the Supreme Political Council, Muhammad Ali Al-Houthi, met on Monday in Sa'ada Governorate, the Regional Director of the World Food Program in the Middle East and North Africa, Corinne Flasher.

The meeting, which was attended by the resident representative of the Food Programme, "Richard Ragan", discussed the repercussions of the Food Programmes decision to reduce humanitarian aid to Yemen.

In the meeting, the supreme political member pointed out that the United Nations working mechanism has proven ineffective in dealing with the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, which is considered the worst in the world.

He pointed out that the decision to reduce aid to Yemen is political and at the behest of the American administration at a time when Yemen continues to suffer as a result of the aggression and siege it has been subjected to for nine years.

Muhammad Ali al-Houthi explained that the reduction of aid in light of the continued aggression and blockade aims to starve the Yemeni people. He held the countries of the US-Saudi aggression coalition fully responsible for all the humanitarian and living crises that Yemen is exposed to.

While Flasher touched on the mechanism of the Food Program's work in disbursing aid and the difficulties it faces due to high prices and scarcity of resources.
