Libyan Presidential Council Deputies Urge Military Compliance to Maintain Tripoli Security


Tripoli: Musa Al-Koni and Abdullah Al-Lafi, the two deputies of the Presidential Council in their capacity as Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army, emphasized the necessity for all military formations to comply with orders and instructions issued by the Presidential Council. This directive aims to preserve security and stability in the capital, Tripoli.



According to Libyan News Agency, this statement was made during a meeting on Sunday with the head and members of the committee formed by Resolution No. (2) of this year. The committee is tasked with overseeing the implementation of the ceasefire and includes key military figures such as Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Haddad, and his assistant, Lieutenant General Salah Al-Din Al-Namroush, along with other senior military officials.



The committee briefed Al-Koni and Al-Lafi on their ongoing work, recent developments in the military and security situation in Tripoli, and the progress made in consolidating the ceasefire. The chairman and committee members highlighted the need for enhanced technical and logistical support to ensure the committee can effectively fulfill its mandate and achieve national objectives.



In response, the Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army reaffirmed his commitment to overseeing the committee’s efforts and providing comprehensive support. He also announced plans to enhance the committee’s executive powers, aligning them with its responsibilities to monitor the ceasefire implementation and fulfill its objectives within Libya’s sovereign and military framework.
