Libyan Ministry Issues Warning of Strong Winds and Heavy Rain in Eastern and Central Regions

Tripoli: The Ministry of Water Resources warns of strong winds and heavy rain in eastern and central Libya. The Libyan Ministry of Water Resources has issued a warning to citizens about the ongoing impact of a low-pressure system affecting the eastern and central regions of the country. This system is expected to bring active to strong winds, along with dust and sandstorms that could significantly reduce horizontal visibility. The adverse weather conditions are projected to begin today, Wednesday, and persist for the following two days.

According to Libyan News Agency, the Ministry released an alert on its official page today, detailing that the Meteorological Center anticipates scattered rainfall, occasionally heavy, coupled with thunderstorms, particularly in areas such as Ajdabiya, the Gulf region, the Benghazi Plain, Jalu, and Jaghbub. These conditions may lead to water accumulation in low-lying areas, posing risks to residents.

The Ministry has urged all citizens to take necessary precautions and avoid valleys and low-lying areas to ensure their safety amidst the expected weather challenges.
