Libya Seeks to Strengthen Ties with Russia

Tripoli: During a meeting with the Russian ambassador, Taher Al-Baour, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Libya's Government of National Unity, emphasized Libya's intent to strengthen its relations with Russia. The focus was on enhancing bilateral cooperation to serve the mutual interests of both nations.

According to Libyan News Agency, this meeting took place at the Ministry headquarters, where Al-Baour met with Aydar Aganin, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Libya. Al-Baour praised the historical ties between Libya and Russia, underscoring the importance of building on these foundations.

The Russian Ambassador expressed Russia's interest in bolstering cooperation with Libya across various fields, aiming to support efforts toward stability and development. Aganin highlighted Russia's eagerness to continue collaborative efforts and to further develop bilateral relations in the future.

The meeting also focused on discussing bilateral cooperation, with both sides exchanging views on several issues of common interest. They explored ways to enhance collaboration in political, economic, and cultural areas, aligning with the mutual interests of both nations.
