Libya and Italy Discuss Strengthening Energy Cooperation.


Tripoli: Libya and Italy have taken significant steps towards enhancing their collaborative efforts in the energy sector. Khalifa Abdul Sadiq, the Acting Minister of Oil and Gas for Libya’s Government of National Unity (GNU), engaged in discussions with Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, the Italian Minister of Energy, focusing on reinforcing ties in energy and renewable energy domains.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting, facilitated by the communication office of the Libyan ministry, centered on exploring avenues for cooperation in training and scientific research. These efforts aim to bolster local capabilities in the energy sector, reflecting a mutual interest in fostering expertise and innovation.

Both nations underscored the critical role of encouraging Italian companies to invest in Libya’s oil services and renewable energy sector. Such investments are seen as pivotal in supporting sustainable development objectives, with a focus on leveraging Italy’s technological expertise and Libya’s rich energy r
esources to achieve long-term economic growth and environmental sustainability.
