Tripoli: Libya and the European Union have jointly underscored the critical importance of maintaining the independence and sustainable operations of Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC), recognizing it as a fundamental pillar for the country's long-term development and prosperity.
According to Libyan News Agency, this emphasis was articulated by the EU Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, following his participation in a meeting led by the newly appointed Chairman of the NOC, Masoud Suleiman, in Tripoli. In a tweet, Orlando extended his congratulations to Masoud on his new role and highlighted the vital contribution of the NOC in ensuring stability and production within Libya's energy sector.
Orlando further elaborated on discussions held about ongoing collaborations aimed at reducing methane emissions and advancing renewable energy initiatives. These efforts are seen as vital in bolstering Libya's energy sector while simultaneously enhancing Europe's energy security.
