House of Representatives Evaluates Support for Al-Fakhri’s African Parliament Presidency Bid

Tripoli: The House of Representatives is currently deliberating on whether to endorse Al-Fakhri's candidacy for the presidency of the African Parliament. In a recent meeting, various members of the House gathered to discuss strategies and mechanisms to advance this significant political ambition.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting was convened by Misbah Douma, the Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, and included the participation of Yousef Al-Aqouri, Chairman of the House's Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Committee, as well as Member of Parliament Yousef Kamoud Al-Fakhri, among others. The focus was on exploring diplomatic efforts and coordination with member states to secure the necessary support for Al-Fakhri's candidacy in the Pan-African Parliament.

The discussion underscored the importance of unifying efforts within the House of Representatives and strategizing diplomatic positions to provide organized, effective support for the Libyan bid. Emphasis was placed on enhancing communication with African parliaments and relevant legislative bodies to fortify this initiative.

Furthermore, the participants highlighted the necessity of reinforcing Libya's presence in regional and international parliamentary forums. This move is aimed at strengthening Libya's position and role in African legislative institutions, thereby increasing its chances of attaining leadership positions within these parliamentary organizations.
