Tripoli: The House of Representatives has allocated a budget of 210 million Libyan dinars to the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) to finance the forthcoming parliamentary and presidential elections. This allocation was formalized in House of Representatives Resolution No. (3) of 2026.
According to Libyan News Agency, the resolution was announced today by the HNEC, which also published the details on its official page. The substantial budget allocation is aimed at covering the expenses associated with conducting the elections, with oversight provided by the House of Representatives’ Presidency.
The HNEC expressed its appreciation for this move, viewing it as a practical and significant step that demonstrates the legislative authority’s commitment to advancing the democratic process. The commission emphasized its complete readiness to initiate the necessary technical and logistical operations.
