A panel discussion on the day one of the third edition of the Global AI Summit (GAIN Summit), organized by the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), discussed today the future of artificial general intelligence (AGI) and its possible impact on humanity.Speakers tackled the significant role AGI can play in enhancing the quality of life for all humanity and transforming the world, and stressed that there is need for substantial investments and immense computing capabilities to address future challenges and expectations.They also emphasized the need for an environment conducive to innovation and investment in order for AGI to make tangible progress, and the need to continue conducting AI research.They said that AGI has a bright future ahead and may greatly enrich people's lives, but that getting there would need a lot of forethought and international collaboration.Source: Saudi Press Agency
