Tripoli: The Delegation of the European Union and the Diplomatic Missions of the EU Member States to Libya have expressed their approval following the announcement of an agreement by Libyan representatives. The agreement, facilitated by the United Nations, focuses on the reconstitution of the Board of the High National Elections Commission and establishing a framework for upcoming elections.According to European Union, this agreement is a significant step towards unifying Libya's institutions and ensuring the conditions necessary for credible national elections. The EU commends the Libyan participants for their cooperative attitude and willingness to act in the national interest.The EU calls on the Libyan House of Representatives and the High Council of State to actively engage with the outcomes of the Small Convening and promptly implement necessary measures. The EU encourages all Libyan institutions and stakeholders to capitalize on this progress and work towards institutional legitimacy and unity.The Delegation affirms its continued support for the United Nations Support Mission in Libya and Special Representative Hanna Tetteh.
