Tripoli: The European Union and the United Nations have highlighted the critical need for Libyan parties to reach a consensus to further the path to stability in the region. Both international bodies stressed the importance of engaging in a genuine spirit of consensus during this pivotal phase, aiming to serve the interests of the Libyan people and improve prospects for achieving unity and stability.

According to Libyan News Agency, this call to action was articulated in a tweet by EU Ambassador to Libya Nicola Orlando, following a meeting in Tripoli with Hanna Tetteh, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General. The tweet revealed that both parties welcomed the progress made on the Libyan-led political roadmap and national efforts directed toward financial sustainability and military institution reunification.

Ambassador Orlando reaffirmed his commitment to facilitating the work of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), underlining its crucial role in backing the political process. He also noted that the current positive momentum, despite existing challenges, presents an important opportunity to advance Libya's path to stability and prosperity.
