Tripoli: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty received a phone call from his Greek counterpart, Giorgos Gerapetritis, last Friday to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and exchange views on regional issues, particularly the situation in Libya.According to Libyan News Agency, Abdel-Aty affirmed Egypt's unwavering support for Libya's unity and stability, emphasizing the importance of unifying Libyan institutions and working towards a comprehensive political solution. He also called for presidential and parliamentary elections to be held as soon as possible within a Libyan-led process that fulfills the aspirations of the Libyan people and preserves their sovereignty.Abdel-Aty expressed Egypt's commitment to advancing the Libyan political process and supporting international mediation efforts to establish strong political institutions capable of addressing the challenges facing Libya.For his part, the Greek Foreign Minister commended Egypt's ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions and conta in regional tensions, emphasizing the importance of continued coordination between the two countries to ensure stability in the region.
