Tripoli: The Director of the General Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Taher Hussein, held a meeting with the Canadian Ambassador to Libya, Isabelle Savard, marking the end of her tenure in the country.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity highlighted that Director Taher Hussein commended Ambassador Savard’s efforts in strengthening the bilateral relations between Libya and Canada. He expressed appreciation for her role in advancing cooperation between the two nations across multiple sectors.
Ambassador Savard extended her heartfelt thanks to the Government of National Unity for the support and collaboration she experienced during her service in Libya. She reaffirmed Canada’s commitment to sustaining its support for Libya’s journey towards stability and development.
At the meeting’s conclusion, Taher Hussein emphasized the significance of further developing Libyan-Canadian relations to enhance the shared interests of both countries.
