Tripoli: Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah of the Government of National Unity affirmed that the government prioritizes supporting preventative and treatment programs and enhancing the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens, ensuring a more effective response to patients' needs. This announcement was made during his opening remarks at the 7th Libyan National Diabetes Conference, organized by the National Diabetes Authority.

According to Libyan News Agency, the conference witnessed wide participation from doctors and specialists from various Libyan cities, alongside a group of medical professionals working in the health sector. Dbeibah highlighted that the conference underscores the growing national awareness of the importance of addressing chronic diseases like diabetes. He stressed the implementation of practical measures to supply diabetes medications to meet the needs for a full year and reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting medical personnel, developing healthcare infrastructure, and strengthening the medical supply system.

On the sidelines of the conference, the Prime Minister explored a medical exhibition showcasing the latest equipment and technologies used in diagnosing and monitoring diabetes. The exhibition also featured presentations on treatment and prevention programs, and scientific initiatives aimed at improving healthcare services in Libya.

The conference program includes scientific workshops and specialized panel discussions with experts and physicians from across Libya. These sessions focus on the latest developments in diabetes diagnosis and treatment, the exchange of expertise among medical institutions, and discussions on the challenges facing the health sector and ways to develop it.

This conference is organized within the framework of efforts aimed at promoting diabetes prevention and its complications, and at producing practical recommendations to support national health policies and contribute to raising the level of healthcare in Libya.
