Dbeibah Discusses Reform Priorities and Education Development with New Minister


Tripoli: Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah met with the newly appointed Minister of Education, Mohammed Abdul Salam Al-Qaryu, to discuss education reform priorities and the sector development plan. The meeting took place on Monday following Al-Qaryu’s recent assumption of ministerial duties.

According to Libyan News Agency, the Minister presented his priorities for the upcoming phase and a proposed action plan aimed at enhancing the education sector. The plan focuses on improving the efficiency of educational institutions, strengthening quality programs and academic accreditation, and prioritizing the training of educational staff. Al-Qaryu also highlighted the significance of digital transformation in the educational process, all of which are intended to improve outcomes and elevate institutional performance.

Dbeibah emphasized the need for a comprehensive reform program centered on institutional discipline, improving the learning environment, and ensuring the quality of educational outcomes. He stated tha
t these efforts would enhance public confidence in the education system and elevate it to the desired standards.

This meeting is part of the Prime Minister’s broader cabinet reshuffle initiative, which aims to fill vacancies in certain ministries and inject new energy into the executive branch. The reshuffle aligns with a vision to enhance governmental performance and improve the level of services provided to citizens.

It is noteworthy that the new Minister of Education holds an academic qualification in clinical molecular genetics from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom, which complements his administrative experience in developing quality systems and governance within educational institutions.
