Tripoli: Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbaiba, emphasized the significance of bolstering the military partnership with the United Kingdom to improve the efficiency of Libya's military institutions. This statement was made during his meeting with the British Ministry of Defense's Senior Advisor for the Middle East and North Africa, Lieutenant General Edward Ahlgren, and his accompanying delegation, alongside the United Kingdom Ambassador to Libya, Martin Longden.
According to Libyan News Agency, Lieutenant General Ahlgren expressed the UK's readiness to deepen cooperation in areas such as training and rehabilitation, aiming to achieve stability and contribute to the establishment of effective institutions. The discussions during the meeting centered on strengthening military cooperation between Libya and the United Kingdom, focusing on supporting and developing Libyan military capabilities and collaborating on training and development.
The Libyan side was represented by Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs Walid Al-Lafi, Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Haddad, and his assistant Lieutenant General Salah Al-Namroush.
